Roast Profile: Best for espresso
In the southernmost reaches of Mindanao, the majestic Mount Matutum rises above the province of South Cotabato. This dormant volcano, with its symmetrical cone and lush forest cover, is a protected landscape and a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. On its fertile slopes, at elevations of 1,200 to 1,500 meters, coffee trees grow in rich volcanic soil, benefiting from a cool climate and frequent rainfall that create the ideal environment for specialty Arabica.
The coffee of Mt. Matutum is deeply tied to the B’laan indigenous people, the ancestral stewards of the mountain. For these farmers, coffee is grown in harmony with the forest, often interspersed with fruit trees and native flora that provide natural shade. The Natural processing used here is a patient craft; whole cherries are dried slowly under the sun, allowing the bean to absorb the intense sweetness and character of the fruit. This results in a heavy-bodied cup defined by deep notes of cacao nibs and dark chocolate, leaving a lingering sweet nutty finish.
By cultivating coffee, the B’laan communities have found a sustainable way to protect their sacred mountain while improving their livelihoods. Every harvest is a testament to their resilience and their commitment to preserving the biodiversity of Mt. Matutum. When you drink this coffee, you are tasting a bold, volcanic spirit nurtured by a community that lives in balance with one of the Philippines' most iconic peaks.

Rising majestically over the landscape of South Cotabato, Mount Matutum is an active stratovolcano and a declared protected landscape.
It is a biodiversity hotspot, serving as a sanctuary for rare wildlife, including the critically endangered Philippine Eagle.
Known as the "Land of the Dreamweavers," the region is culturally rich, home to indigenous communities who have woven their lives and traditions into the fertile volcanic soil that nurtures these highlands.
