Auro’s cacao is primarily sourced from the tropical forests and volcanic foothills surrounding Davao City and Davao del Sur. This region, often referred to as the "Cacao Capital of the Philippines," provides the perfect humid climate and nutrient-rich soil required for heirloom varieties to thrive.
Specifically, Auro focuses on the following:
(1) Paquibato District
This area is famous for producing cacao with distinct fruity and floral notes. In 2019, cacao from Paquibato, sourced through Auro, was recognized among the "Top 20 Best Cacao Beans in the World" at the International Cocoa Awards in Paris.
(2) Saloy
Located in the highlands of Davao City, Saloy is another key origin for Auro. The cacao here is known for a profile that features notes of herbs, bergamot, and cherries.

I used this to make baked goods for Christmas and everyone loved it. Friends, family! I also used some for our traditional new year hot chocolate and it reminded me a lot of my grandma’s hot chocolate tradition in the province. So happy I found tablea in Germany!
