Kitchen & Prep (M/W/D)

Mini-job / Part-time / Full-time8:30 – 16:30No late nightsStart: 01.06.26

About us:

Kape de Filipina is a Philippine specialty coffee cafe based in Berlin. This June 2026, we open our first café at Dunckerstr. 12 in Prenzlauer Berg. Our menu is small and focused: a short food menu built around Philippine flavours — pandesal, ube, calamansi, adobo. No deep fryer, no late nights, no sprawling kitchen operation.

We're looking for someone who can work clean, work fast, and take real pride in what comes out of the kitchen. Experience in Filipino or fusion cuisine is a genuine advantage. No experience with Philippine food? If you're curious and willing to learn, that counts for a lot.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and plate our food menu to a consistent standard every shift
  • Handle daily prep — portioning, mise en place, freshness checks
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly throughout service
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff in a small, open team
  • Learn the Philippine ingredients and dishes on our menu and help us develop it over time

What we're looking for:

  • At least one year of professional experience in a café or restaurant kitchen, in cooking and baking
  • Eligibility to work in gastronomy in Germany — Anmeldung, tax ID, health insurance, Rote Karte (or a confirmed appointment for it)
  • Experience with or genuine interest in Filipino and fusion Philippine cuisine
  • Someone precise, self-sufficient, and comfortable working a small kitchen without a large brigade around them
  • Availability from 8am, including weekends and public holidays

What we offer:

  • Fair hourly wage: Paid fairly for your skill and experience
  • 100% of your tips: Every cent will go directly to you!
  • Room to grow: We want to nurture a café manager within 12 months. That could be you.
  • No late nights: Open 8:30–16:30, every day. No kitchen.
  • Free coffee, of course! Plus discounts on food and retail.
  • Be part of something from day one
